Financial Controller – Real Estate
Los Angeles, CA – Hybrid Flexibility (3 days per week in office)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Accountant/Controller to join our growing team in Los Angeles. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial real estate environment & can bring structure, systems, & reliability to an evolving organization. The ideal candidate has strong real estate accounting experience, confidence in their abilities, & the willingness to take ownership from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities
- Produce monthly, quarterly & annual financial reporting packages (P&L, balance sheets, bank reconciliations, cash flow summaries, etc.)
- Oversee audited financials & serve as the internal liaison for auditors
- Maintain accurate & up-to-date accounting records using QuickBooks
- Manage & organize all financial documentation within Dropbox, ClickUp & related systems
- Support creation, management & improvement of internal financial systems, processes & controls across departments
- Review, update & track project Proformas and other real-estate-specific financial models
- Provide timely & accurate reporting for Affordable Housing & Multifamily assets
- Ensure all financial information is audit-ready, well-organized & easily accessible
- Support bank draws, loan reporting, vendor payments & invoice tracking
- Collaborate with the CEO & team members to provide clear, responsive financial support
Required Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in an Accounting, Controller or Bookkeeper role
- Background in real estate - Affordable Housing, Multifamily, Retail or Hospitality strongly preferred
- Strong reporting experience with the ability to build & interpret financial statements
- Experience working with audited financials
- Understanding of real estate Proformas & deal-level financials
- Experience with QuickBooks, Dropbox, ClickUp & ideally Yardi
- Strong organizational skills & comfort stepping into an environment where reporting & documentation systems are still being built

Compensation: $75,000 base salary benefits
