Hospice Volunteer - Mahoning County and surrounding areas!
Volunteer activities available...
- Sitting with patients to provide companionship, play games, and offer a friendly, comforting presence.
- Sending encouraging letters and cards.
- Assisting in light household chores and errands.
- Calling patients and their families to check on needs.
- Assisting with administrative duties at our Beachwood office.
- Making blankets, quilts, pillows, and crafts for our patients.
- Providing support to our bereaved families by assisting with mailings, phone calls and in-home grief support visits.
- And so much more!
- This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
Qualifications:
- Availability of time and skills which pertain to the volunteer activity
- Maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and take directions well.
- Empathetic listening skills
- Ability to understand and tolerate hardship stories.
Time Commitment:
- Time commitment is flexible and can work around your schedule and availability.
