Volunteer Activities Include:
- Providing companionship and friendly support to patients through chatting, reminiscing, playing games, or other joyful activities
- Collecting life stories and special memories for journals, memory boards, and art projects
- Sending encouraging letters and cards
- Assisting with light household chores or running errands
- Calling patients and their families to check on needs
- Supporting administrative duties at our Beachwood and Youngstown offices
- Crafting blankets, quilts, pillows, and other items for our patients
- Providing support to bereaved families through mailings, phone calls, and in-home grief support visits
- Representing Harmony Hospice Care at Community Outreach and Special Events, including engaging with residents at nursing homes and participating in activities at festivals and fairs
Qualifications:
- Availability of time and skills relevant to your selected volunteer activity
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
- Empathy and compassion
- Completion of background check, TB test, physical, and training provided by Harmony Hospice Care
