Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Assist customers with plant selection, gardening advice, and landscape maintenance tips, ensuring personalized service that meets their needs.
• Identify a wide variety of plants, flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawn care products accurately to support customer decisions.
• Provide guidance on design ideas and garden planning to inspire customers’ outdoor projects.
• Communicate effectively with customers via phone or in person to address questions about plant care or store services.
• Assist with inventory management through monitoring stock levels and communicating with buyers as needed.
• Collaborate with other members of the Nursery Team on product selection and merchandising strategies to enhance customer experience.
• Care and maintenance of plants.
• Receive and check-in plants from vendors.
• Accurately complete paperwork according to procedure.
• Participate in closing or opening procedures.

Skills and Requirements:

• Nursery, Landscaping, or Horticultural experience (not necessarily retail experience).
• Knowledge of horticulture practices including plant identification, pest identification, and landscape maintenance, including appropriate watering and nutrition.
• Knowledge of or desire to learn: organic/sustainable land stewardship practices.
• Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
• Professional demeanor.
• Good sense of humor.
• Positive attitude.
• Good physical condition including ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to identify and communicate issues/opportunities and offer solutions.
• Outdoor work experience that demonstrates comfort working outside in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities as a senior advisor.
• Ability to work at least one weekend day.
• Comfortable with desktop computers (Mac and/or PC) and Word, Excel, and email.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
