Harmer Associates (DFW) is representing an extremely exciting hybrid opportunity is available with a highly successful and rapidly growing consumer products organization. This role offers exceptional visibility across the business, partnering closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Distribution leadership. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting inventory accounting, distribution operations, financial reporting, and operational analysis within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, inventory adjustments, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain inventory accounting records, including inventory valuation, reserves, obsolescence analysis, and cycle count adjustments.
- Analyze inventory movements, freight expenses, warehousing costs, and other supply chain-related operating expenses.
- Perform financial and operational variance analysis related to inventory, transportation, procurement, and distribution activities.
- Develop and maintain operational and financial KPI reporting, including inventory turns, freight costs, order fulfillment metrics, and warehouse productivity measures.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes for distribution and logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, and Finance teams to improve reporting accuracy and operational performance.
- Support process improvement initiatives, reporting enhancements, and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting, financial analysis, or operational accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and GAAP principles.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and financial modeling.
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets and translate information into actionable business insights.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with both finance and operational business partners.
