The Director of Trade Marketing / Customer Marketing will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of trade and shopper marketing initiatives to accelerate sales growth, strengthen category performance, and improve HARIBO’s brand presence across all channels.

Located on-site at the HARIBO of America corporate headquarts in Rosemont, Illinois, the Director of Trade Marketing / Customer Marketing will serve as the connection between Marketing, Sales, and Category Management, translating brand and sales strategy into customer focused retail activation. This role will lead a small team of direct reports to develop innovative programs, optimize trade investments, and ensure execution that delivers visibility, conversion, and profitability for HARIBO of America.

The ideal Director of Trade Marketing / Customer Marketing will have 10 years of progressive growth experience in the CPG industry, a Bachelor’s Degree, and the proven ability to develop and execute customer-centric trade programs that drive growth and measurable return-on-investment for HARIBO of America.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of annual customer (retailer) and channel growth strategies with brand and revenue goals
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to translate brand plans into customer initiatives
  • Develop customer selling stories that translate consumer, shopper, and category insights into compelling retail growth opportunities
  • Build activation toolkits for key accounts and channels (Food/Grocery, Convenience, Dollar/Value, Mass, Specialty, etc)
  • Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of customer marketing and sales strategy professional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10 years of progressive experience in the CPG/Consumer Packaged Goods industry in roles such as Customer Marketing, Sales Strategy, Trade Marketing, Brand Management, Category Management
  • Experience leading teams and/or people management, superivory experience
  • Ability to travel domestically, as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with candy, confectionery, snacks, or food in the CPG/Consumer Packaged Goods industry
  • Experience with a variety of channels (example: Convenience, Grocery/Food, Mass, Club, Dollar/Value, etc)
  • Prior experience leading teams/people leadership
  • Proficiency with syndicated data such as IRI, Circana, Nielsen, SPINS, etc
  • MBA, Master’s Degree

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling selling stories
  • Ability to turn insights into action
  • Cross-functional collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provided ability to develop and execute customer-centric trade programs that drive growth and measurable ROI

Compensation

Target Hiring Pay Range: $170,000-$205,000 annually

This pay range represents the min/max target annual base salary range HARIBO of America, Inc. may pay for this position at the time of this posting.

Please note, a candidate’s offered annual salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and the geographical location of the role.
