Custom Stair Builder (Training Provided)
Hardwood Design Inc. is looking for motivated individuals who enjoy working with their hands, solving problems, and building exceptional products. No previous stairbuilding experience is required—we are willing to train the right person.
We manufacture one-of-a-kind hardwood staircases for luxury homes throughout New England, working with many of the region's leading builders and architects. This is not production line work. Every staircase is custom, and no two projects are alike.
Responsibilities
- Build custom stair components from work orders and shop drawings.
- Assemble stairbodies (stair carriages), treads, landings, and other stair components.
- Operate woodworking machinery and power tools.
- Read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists.
- Perform glue-ups, fitting, sanding, and final assembly.
- Work with premium hardwoods such as white oak, walnut, maple, teak, antique heart pine, mahogany, and more.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Collaborate with experienced stairbuilders to produce exceptional work.
Qualifications
- Interest in woodworking, carpentry, or building things.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Trade school education, woodworking, or carpentry experience is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
