What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Support Specialist (San Luis Valley) position at HardBeauty, LLC?
At HardBeauty, we are a whole-life recovery hub committed to equity, integrity, spirituality, and community. Our mission is to serve those navigating the complexities of substance use, trauma, mental health, family violence, and justice involvement — not just with services, but with purpose, compassion, and authentic connection.
We are currently seeking a Peer Recovery Coach to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide mobile, community-based support to individuals on their recovery journey — walking beside them, offering your lived experience, and building a pathway forward rooted in hope. This part-time role includes a flexible, hybrid schedule and may grow into a full-time position based on performance and fit.
Your Role in the Mission
As a Peer Recovery Coach, you are the embodiment of bravery, connection, and co-creation — using your own recovery journey to inspire others. You will show up in real time, in real life, offering both empathy and accountability to people who are rebuilding their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Peer Support & Coaching
Use your own lived experience to establish trust, build rapport, and model recovery in action.
Offer support in a variety of settings — homes, hospitals, jails, treatment centers, parks, and community spaces.
Assist individuals in identifying their values, goals, and strengths, using a client-led, person-centered approach.
Participate actively in your own recovery and engage in wellness and programming at HardBeauty to sustain and deepen your coaching practice.
Promote multiple pathways to recovery, always honoring individual choice and cultural responsiveness.
Follow all HardBeauty policies, procedures, Code Of Ethics and best practices as outlined in the company manual and core training.
Advocacy & Empowerment
Advocate for clients within systems of care, justice, and community services.
Act as a resource broker, guiding clients to services, supports, and opportunities while building their confidence to self-navigate.
Encourage and model self-determination, empowering clients to make informed decisions about their recovery.
Crisis Support
Provide non-clinical crisis intervention and emotional support during times of high stress or trauma.
Help clients identify coping tools and strategies for managing mental health and recovery challenges.
Collaborate with care teams and external providers as needed to ensure client safety and well-being.
Documentation & Accountability
Submit timely, accurate, and confidential documentation, including service notes, invoices, and reports.
Track billable service hours and contribute to the financial sustainability of the organization.
Use data and client feedback to improve services and inform programming.
