About Happy Hollow Resort

Happy Hollow Resort is a family-friendly lakeside resort focused on creating a welcoming, peaceful, and memorable experience for our guests.

Hospitality here is about more than completing a list of tasks. It means caring for people, taking pride in the property, supporting your teammates, and noticing the little things that help guests feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

We are looking for someone with a heart for service—someone dependable, hardworking, kind, and willing to step in wherever needed to help the resort operate at its best.

Job Overview

The Resort Guest Services & Operations Associate is a hands-on, multi-role position supporting guest services, housekeeping and laundry, the coffee bar and snack shop, boat and kayak rentals, pool operations, property care, and the daily operations of the resort.

This is not strictly a desk position. Team members are cross-trained throughout the resort and should be comfortable moving between the office, cabins, laundry, coffee bar, pool, dock, and outdoor areas of the property throughout the day.

The right person will enjoy variety, take initiative, work effectively with little to no direct supervision, and understand that every responsibility—from answering a guest’s question to preparing a clean cabin for arrival—contributes to the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Services & Office Operations

  • Welcome guests and assist with check-ins, check-outs, questions, and requests
  • Answer phones and communicate professionally with guests in person, by phone, text, and email
  • Learn reservation procedures, guest accounts, resort policies, and payment processing
  • Prepare guest arrivals, keys, and check-in materials
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment

Housekeeping & Laundry

  • Clean and prepare guest cabins for arrivals and complete cabin turnovers
  • Make beds and restock cabin supplies and amenities
  • Wash, dry, fold, organize, and restock resort linens and towels
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness and presentation
  • Identify and report maintenance concerns, damage, or missing items

Coffee Bar & Snack Shop

  • Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, pastries, and snack items
  • Bake and prepare select food items
  • Operate the point-of-sale system and process purchases
  • Keep service areas clean, stocked, and organized
  • Follow proper food-handling and sanitation procedures
  • Obtain ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire

Pool & Property Care

  • Learn and complete routine pool checks and required pool logs
  • Help maintain clean and welcoming pool and common areas
  • Assist with general property upkeep, including trash and debris removal, blowing walkways and outdoor areas, light landscaping, and seasonal tasks
  • Recognize and report maintenance or safety concerns throughout the property

Boat & Kayak Rentals

  • Assist guests with boat and kayak rentals
  • Learn rental procedures, paperwork, equipment checks, and safety expectations
  • Assist with launching, docking, securing, cleaning, and organizing rental equipment
  • Refuel boats as needed
  • Training will be provided for resort-specific procedures

General Resort Operations

  • Respond to guest needs throughout the property
  • Assist other team members and departments during busy periods
  • Help with stocking, deliveries, organization, and special projects
  • Recognize what needs attention and take appropriate action without always waiting to be asked
  • Shift priorities as guest needs and resort operations require

What We’re Looking For

The right person for this position:

  • Has a genuine heart for hospitality and serving others
  • Is dependable, responsible, honest, and punctual
  • Can work effectively with little to no direct supervision
  • Takes initiative and recognizes what needs to be done
  • Uses good judgment and can prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Is organized, detail-oriented, and follows through
  • Communicates warmly and professionally with guests and coworkers
  • Is flexible and willing to help wherever needed
  • Takes pride in doing things well, even when no one is watching
  • Remains calm and solutions-focused during busy or unexpected situations
  • Is willing to learn, grow, and receive feedback

Preferred Experience

  • Previous hospitality, customer service, resort, or property operations experience
  • Previous lead, supervisory, or management experience is a plus
  • Experience working independently and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Housekeeping, food service, or recreational rental experience is helpful

Experience is valuable, but we place equal importance on dependability, initiative, good judgment, and a genuine desire to serve others.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
  • Comfortable performing housekeeping and other physical duties throughout the workday
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, carry supplies, and climb stairs
  • Ability to lift approximately 25–50 lbs.
