Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, self-starting, and diligent Maintenance Employee / Handyman to support the day-to-day upkeep of our event venue and studio space. This full-time, hourly role is ideal for someone with strong initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a wide range of facility maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
Typical hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Flexibility is required to accommodate the scale and scope of events, including occasional evening or weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, light carpentry, drywall patching, and basic plumbing or electrical repairs.
Conduct regular inspections of the space to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
Set up and break down event infrastructure (e.g., moving furniture, staging, temporary walls, signage).
Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage and utility areas.
Assist with vendor access, deliveries, and general building upkeep.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance needs during or around event hours.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and building protocols.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a maintenance or handyman role.
Working knowledge of tools, hardware, and facility systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Must be a self-starter with a diligent and proactive approach to responsibilities.
Flexibility to adjust hours based on event needs.
Reliable transportation and punctuality.
Preferred but Not Required:
Any trade specialty (e.g., electrical, carpentry, HVAC) is a strong plus.
OSHA certification or similar safety training.
Experience working in event venues or hospitality environments.
Compensation:
$30/hour, with opportunities for additional hours during high season or major events.
