Accounting Specialist

Position Summary

Hanwha Power Systems Americas is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist with 3 to 5 years of experience to play a vital role in the daily accounting operations. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating technical accounting expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the general ledger and accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
• Month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal company policies.
• Manage cost accounting processes including BOM analysis, standard costing, and inventory valuation.
• Oversee financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with the finance team.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and process improvements.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure alignment between finance and manufacturing functions.
• Participate in ERP implementation, system enhancements, and data integrity initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing accounting teams and month-end close cycles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred:

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite ERP systems.
• Exposure to Korean business culture or bilingual in Korean and English (a plus, not required).
