Data Analyst II

Hansen Talent Group is hiring a Data Analyst to support an analytics team for a large enterprise in Columbia, SC.

This role combines technical data analysis with a consultative, customer-facing approach. You’ll work closely with business partners to design reporting solutions, analyze operational data, and deliver insights that drive decision-making. The position includes both project-based development work and ongoing operational reporting responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze and interpret data to support program evaluation and operational decision-making
• Extract, review, and validate data from multiple sources for reporting and analysis
• Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports for business stakeholders
• Create and track metrics to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities
• Design and build data queries and programs to support analysis (SQL, databases)
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
• Facilitate meetings, document requirements, and present findings to leadership and customers
• Automate reporting processes where possible to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Document reporting procedures to enable self-service reporting by other teams
• Identify data inconsistencies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity
 

What You’ll Need

• 2 years of data analysis, reporting, or research experience
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (DB2 or similar)
• Experience with Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, macros, data analysis)
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies
• Experience working with business stakeholders in a consultative capacity
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Healthcare, or related field OR equivalent experience
