Location: Mojave, California – onsite. Relocation support is available to the Mojave, Palmdale, Lancaster, or Tehachapi area.

Compensation: The annual base salary range for this role is $120,000 – $237,000. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus or other incentive compensation.
POSITION SUMMARY
A leading aerospace organization is seeking Senior, Staff, or Principal Environmental Analysis Engineers to support environmental test level analysis for advanced flight vehicles and carrier aircraft platforms. Environmental testing is critical to mission success and involves all subsystems. This role will collaborate across disciplines to define requirements, engineer solutions, and evaluate the effects of environmental conditions such as vibration, thermal, and shock on components and systems.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop analytical environmental test levels for random vibration, thermal, and shock conditions
- Apply established test standards to guide test level development
- Recommend test level margins and assess associated risks
- Process flight test data and update test levels and margins as needed
- Provide guidance to other analysis engineers
- Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to engineer technical solutions
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to meet technical and program requirements
- Support external coordination for range integration, safety documentation, and payload integration
- Prepare presentations and contribute to design reviews throughout vehicle development
- Evaluate risks and risk mitigation strategies
- Communicate regularly with program leadership
- Contribute to integration of complex aerospace systems
- Travel as needed to support departmental and customer activities
- Demonstrate accountability, integrity, and follow-through
Qualifications & Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with random vibration, thermal, and shock test level predictions
- Ability to generate PSDs and SRSs from time history accelerometer data
- Familiarity with environmental test standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016, DO-160, RCC-319-19)
- Experience managing test level margins (e.g., uncertainty, workmanship, qualification)
- Knowledge of fatigue-based time-scaling for vibration testing
- Ability to perform analysis comparing vibration PSD to SRS
- Understanding of fatigue damage spectra and rainflow cycle counting
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently
- Experience with complex aerospace system development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with advanced vibration data analysis techniques and tools
- Experience supporting flight termination system requirements
- Familiarity with Ground Vibration Testing (GVT)
- Experience operating in mission control or flight operations environments
- Active security clearance
Technical Skills
Required:
- MATLAB or equivalent
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred:
- Symvionics IADS
- Finite Element Analysis tools
- Familiarity with configuration management systems (e.g., Jira)
Education & Experience
- Senior: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field) and 5–10 years of experience, or equivalent combination
- Staff: Bachelor’s degree and 10–20 years of experience, or equivalent combination
- Principal: Bachelor’s degree and 20 years of experience, or equivalent combination
