Our client, a public organization's IT group, is dedicated to delivering reliable internal technology support, is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide frontline IT assistance.
This role serves as the first point of contact for internal users, delivering hands-on support, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring a high-quality end-user experience.
Location: Bothell, WA – Onsite
Duration: 3-6 months with potential for extension or conversion
Compensation: Up to $38.00 per hour.
Additional Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.

Summary:
• Serve as the first point of contact for internal technical support requests
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and system issues
• Deliver a high level of customer service and user support across the organization
• Support onboarding, training, and documentation efforts for end users
• Assist in maintaining secure, efficient, and well-managed IT environments
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Tier 1 technical support, diagnosing and resolving user issues or escalating as needed
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues across end-user devices
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through timely follow-up and communication
• Build strong internal relationships and support users across departments
• Develop and maintain user documentation and training materials
• Support onboarding of new employees, including setup of IT equipment and access
• Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
• Support endpoint protection and cybersecurity tools
• Track and manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle
• Maintain and support operational systems such as workstations management and telephony tools
• Participate in cross-training and provide backup support to team members
Qualifications:
• 2 years of experience in IT support or related field
• General understanding of IT systems, service desk workflows, and support best practices
• Experience supporting Windows and Microsoft Office environments
• Ability to diagnose and resolve basic hardware and software issues
• Experience supporting users both in person and remotely
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to document processes and provide user training
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem solving
Nice to Have:
• Experience with endpoint security tools
• Familiarity with IT asset management practices
• Experience supporting telephony or device management systems
• Exposure to basic networking concepts and troubleshooting
