What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services Client Specialist position at Hannahville Indian Community?
Employees in this job complete and oversee a variety of professional probation assignments, including case managment services to socially and economically disadvantrage individuals and families in programs and services administered by the Hannahville Indian Community Social Services Department, which may include, but not limited to adoption, adult servicews, emergency assistance, foster care, foster home licensing, guardianship, ICWA, juvenile justice, respresentative payee services and protective services. This position has an on call residency requirement in which you are required to be within a 30 mile radious of the Hannahville Health Center N15750 Hannahville B-1 Road, Wilson, MI. in order to respond in person to emergencies when assigned. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services or Behavioral Sciences required. Must possess and maintain a current valid MI. driver's license while meeting all insurance carrier requirements to drive company vehicle. Must pass criminal history investigations (per BIA standards) to qualify for this position. Must complete the Michigan Judicial Institute Certification Training for Juvenile Court Staff within two years of hire. Must obtain CPR certification with 6 months of hire. Two years of casework experience in related child welfare agency/social services/youth services agency preferred. Tribal experience preferred. Knowledable of the Native American culture; of child protection/welfare and child development; of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA).
