Job Duties/Scope Of Work
Role Overview
The IT Infrastructure & Operations Leader provides strategic and operational direction for the enterprise technology environment, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure services. This role is a key member of the IT leadership team and partners closely with cross-functional leaders to align technology capabilities with organizational goals and global business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a core member of the IT Leadership team, collaborating with leaders across Architecture, Security, Applications, Governance, PMO, Supply Chain IT, and business units.
- Develop and execute strategic plans and technology roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategies.
- Lead change management initiatives, including user-impact analysis, communication, training, cultural readiness, and technical implementation.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends—particularly in manufacturing—while coordinating with PR and Corporate Communications as appropriate.
Team & Resource Management
- Oversee teams responsible for Enterprise Operations, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, and Technical Program Management.
- Manage a department of 5 FTEs, along with third-party vendors, contractors, and Managed Service Providers.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management for IT staff.
- Direct, assign, and prioritize work to ensure operational excellence and efficient service delivery.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure stability, security, scalability, and performance across enterprise IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
- Oversee technical implementation efforts and ensure alignment with enterprise initiatives and standards.
- Optimize utilization of IT resources (people, tools, and budgets) to meet operational and business demand.
- Provide subject matter expertise to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across the infrastructure landscape.
- Partner with Internal Audit and Finance to maintain SOX compliance and support internal and external audit activities.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies, internal controls, and risk reduction practices.
- Engage with departments across the global organization to deliver value-added IT services and partnership.
- Collaborate annually with vendors, partners, suppliers, subcontractors, and external auditors to support operational and compliance needs.
Financial & Budget Oversight
- Participate in the development and execution of departmental budgets, capital planning, and Annual Operating Plans.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and results to Senior IT leadership and Business Unit leaders.

Success requires proven leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to drive complex initiatives across a global enterprise.
Basic Qualifications
*BS/BA degree in computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations.
- 7 years of experience in managing and leading technical teams.
- Demonstrated experience building and leading a team of highly skilled technology engineers and managers distributed across multiple regions that support existing and emerging technologies in a Hybrid-Cloud and On Premises footprint.
- Highly technically competent with the ability to assimilate new technologies and identify where they can be applied to strategy, processes, and organization to support Business objectives.
- Highly developed technical acumen, including the ability to understand the customer or partner IT landscape, identify opportunities and overcome any technical obstacles, ultimately influencing the adoption of our platforms and services in conjunction with business requirements.
- Strong leadership capabilities, having the ability to communicate effectively with diverse set of IT principles, SMEs across multiple disciplines.
- Strong presentation and written communication skills; high degree of comfort with technical and Executive audiences.
- Background leading IT organizations and directly managing technical individual contributors and supervisors.
- Ability to communicate situation reports to both highly technical and non-technical individuals.
- Interacting with other teams to provide the measurements needed to effectively manage organizational technology risk.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, coach and lead technical teams.
- Ability to lead teams in achieving or exceeding challenging goals.

Advanced Education & Credentials
- Master's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCNP, ITIL, or cloud-focused credentials (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Expertise in large-scale network or data center modernization, hybrid-cloud architecture, and emerging infrastructure platforms.
- Experience working in regulated or high-security environments (e.g., DOE, nuclear, energy sector).
- Background in designing or supporting industrial control systems (ICS) or operational technology (OT) environments.
- Hands-on experience developing and implementing multi-year technology roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational transformation, modernization initiatives, or enterprise-scale change.
- Proven success influencing cross-functional stakeholders, executives, and technical SMEs.
- Experience leading distributed or multi-regional technical teams.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, service management practices, and enterprise governance models.
- Experience developing or managing IT risk, cybersecurity compliance, or audit-aligned processes
- Knowledge of project management or process improvement methodologies (Agile, Lean, PMI).
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, energy, or mission-driven operational environments.
- Ability to map evolving technologies to measurable business impact.
