ASSIGNMENT: School Year 2026-2027; Sites to be determined – 4.5 hrs. per day; 184 workdays (10 months per year) Regularly assigned shift is: 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Wednesday’s schedule starts at 1:00 p.m. (Grant funded positions.) Recruitment also to develop a hirable list for future openings in 2026-2027 School Year and substitute opportunities. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist in the supervision and training of students enrolled in the Recreation Enrichment Academics Devoted to Youth (READY) afterschool program. Provide various supportive services in order to carry out activities to improve the attendance, academic performance and general well-being of students enrolled in the READY program. Jefferson Campus is a dual immersion FLI campus, so Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are highly desirable for that campus. All programs are Grant Funded.
Requirements / Qualifications
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Completion of or proof of enrollment in or progress towards 12 semester units of college level course work, preferably in child development. Obtain a passing score on the California High school Proficiency Exam and California Paraprofessional Exam. (In lieu of the CPE, provide documentation of successful completion of two years of higher education study (48 units) or Associates (AA) or higher educational degree.) Passing score on CBEST meets both requirements. Experience working with children in formal or informal settings. A valid First Aid and basic C.P.R. card and Bilingual skills highly desirable.
