What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Hana Technologies, Inc.?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is a hands-on contributor to our month-end close process and will play an integral part in strengthening our accounting operations, data integrity, and reporting capabilities within our Acumatica ERP environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- 4β7 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience owning month-end close activities from journal entries through final reporting.
- Hands-on experience with Acumatica ERP highly preferred; comparable mid-market ERP (NetSuite, Sage, Epicor) considered.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of cost accounting fundamentals including COGS, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances
Essential Job Functions:
- Own and execute month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis, consistently meeting close deadlines.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with particular attention to COGS, inventory, and manufacturing-related accounts.
- Support multi-entity consolidation entries across US and China entities.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and schedules to support management reporting and audit preparation.
- Identify and investigate GL exceptions and discrepancies, including cost accounting anomalies, and drive resolution.
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with the Controller and VP of Finance on process improvement initiatives and ERP optimization within Acumatica.
- Support external audit and tax preparation requests by providing accurate, well-documented workpapers.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations and Supply Chain on inventory costing and manufacturing cost flows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Acumatica ERP experience highly preferred; comparable mid-market ERP considered
- Working knowledge of US GAAP as applied in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with multi-entity and intercompany accounting a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Team-oriented with a collaborative and continuous-improvement mindset
Physical Abilities (ex: standing, pulling, include duration):
- Ability to work at a desk and computer workstation for extended periods.
- Occasional access to production and warehouse areas may be required; PPE required in designated areas.
