IT Specialist - Full Time

Hampton County Government – Hampton, SC

Hampton County is seeking a skilled IT Specialist to oversee and support the County’s technology systems and operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing IT infrastructure, supporting users, and ensuring secure and efficient technology services across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily IT operations, systems, and support services
• Provide technical support for hardware, software, networks, and servers
• Manage IT projects, vendors, and work order systems
• Ensure cybersecurity, data protection, and system integrity
• Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and strategic plans
• Assist with IT budgeting and provide guidance to departments
• Train staff and troubleshoot technical issues
• Provide emergency IT support during critical events

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with network systems, servers, and desktop support
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Government or public sector experience
• IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)
