What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assessor position at Hampton County Government?
Under little direct supervision, supervises, plans, and directs the activities of the Tax Assessor’s Department to ensure the proper assessment of County property for tax purposes. Evaluates property records and appraises real estate to determine value; develops and updates tax maps. Establishes and controls department budget. Reviews work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy. Reports to County Administrator.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements: Requires three to five years of experience as an appraiser and supervisory skills, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements
Special Certifications and License: Requires certification as a residential real estate appraiser
