Overview
Audit, balance and report on the various areas of the hotel (e.g. food and beverage outlets, rooms operations, suite shop, etc.) to provide accurate, timely information and to ensure company and hotel policies and procedures are followed and to prevent potential fraud. In addition, to provide outstanding guest service during the third shift/over-night shift.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Audit, balance and report on all food and beverage outlets cash and credit operations to include but not limited to checks, cash over/short tally sheets, deposits, house charges, promotional materials and guest cover statistics in an accurate and timely manner.
- Audit, balance, post and report on the Front Desk operations to include but not limited to room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, disputed charges, taxes, cash over/short tally sheets, deposits, etc., to ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are being administered.
- Audit, balance, prepare and verify Rooms Department revenue and statistical information in a report format and distribute daily.
- Prepare and input income and statistics on a daily journal report and forward to the corporate office for posting to the general ledger.
- Run night audit final after insuring all revenues, cash, credit cards, room charges and miscellaneous postings are in balance nightly.
- Perform the duties of a Front Desk Associate to include express check-outs, checking-in of guests, checking-out of guests, telephone support to outside and internal guests, receive and post reservations for future guests.
- Communicate with the Assistant General Manager on a regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned. Participate in hotel task forces and committees as requested.
- Perform the duties of a bellperson as requested.
Job Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to operate a computer, calculator and POS system.
- Ability to compile facts and figures and show a basic mathematics aptitude.
- Accounting and/or Front Desk experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong aptitude to Front Office and Reservations systems.
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. without restriction.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and employees.
