Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facilities, and infrastructure to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
• Repair or replace faulty components including motors, belts, valves, switches, and wiring to ensure equipment operates smoothly.
• Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot automation systems and implement control modifications when necessary.
• Conduct welding repairs on metal structures or machinery components to restore integrity and safety.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and asset history.
• Support facilities maintenance tasks such as residential painting or general building upkeep to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Supervise or assist junior technicians in completing maintenance tasks efficiently while promoting safety standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to minimize disruptions during scheduled maintenance or repairs while providing excellent customer service internally.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals related to industrial equipment.
• Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical troubleshooting, welding techniques, and the use of diagnostic tools like ohmmeters.
• Mechanical knowledge applicable to machinery repair, installation, and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration.
• Supervising experience is preferred to lead or mentor other technicians effectively.
• Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive approach to safety protocols and problem resolution.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, working at heights, or in confined spaces as required. Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
