The New Customer Success Manager is responsible for onboarding new accounts and hand-holding them through their first purchase. This role serves as the first point of contact for prospective designers, architects and builders, introducing them to the Hammerton brand and our design leading products and custom capabilities and how our lighting solutions elevate exceptional spaces.
The New Customer Success Manager is a consultative sales professional who understands design, builds meaningful relationships, and creates confidence in the Hammerton brand. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to customer onboarding, the ability to speak the language of design, discover project opportunities, overcome objections, and confidently close new business.
Working closely with Territory Sales Managers, manufacturer representatives, engineering, customer service, and marketing, this position ensures seamless customer experience from initial inquiry through project handoff while consistently achieving customer onboarding and sales goals.

The successful New Client Success Manager will:
- Become a trusted resource and first point of contact for prospective designers, architects, builders, and luxury residential clients.
- Consistently generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, relationship building, networking, referrals, and disciplined follow-up.
- Represent the Hammerton brand with professionalism, confidence, and enthusiasm while communicating our craftsmanship, custom capabilities, and commitment to exceptional design.
- Speak the language of design by understanding aesthetics, materials, finishes, scale, lighting applications, and the unique needs of design professionals.
- Develop meaningful relationships that establish trust and position Hammerton as the preferred lighting partner.
- Demonstrate strong consultative selling skills by uncovering customer needs, recommending tailored lighting solutions, overcoming objections, and confidently asking for the business.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through disciplined prospecting, CRM management, and consistent follow-up.
- Collaborate effectively with Regional Sales Managers, manufacturer representatives, engineering, customer service, marketing, and production teams to deliver a premium customer experience from first contact through project completion.
- Balance creativity with business acumen by helping clients achieve their design vision while meeting project objectives.
- Demonstrate resilience, curiosity, initiative, and persistence while pursuing new opportunities and overcoming challenges.
- Consistently achieve customer acquisition, sales activity, pipeline, and revenue goals while serving as an ambassador for the Hammerton brand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Onboarding new customers designers, architects and builders so they understand our brand and our capabilities and are ready to make their first purchase.
- Conduct engaging product presentations and educate prospective customers on Hammerton's custom and catalog offerings.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Hammerton brand, product portfolio, manufacturing capabilities, and value proposition.
- Confidently communicate Hammerton's craftsmanship, design philosophy, custom capabilities, and premium customer experience.
- Consult with prospective customers to understand project goals and recommend lighting solutions that align with their design vision.
- Build credibility with interior designers, architects, builders, and luxury residential professionals by speaking the language of design.
- Prepare quotations and proposals while proactively managing opportunities through their first sales experience with Hammerton.
- Hand hold customers through their first order.
- Partner closely with Regional Sales Managers, manufacturer representatives, engineering, customer service, and production teams to ensure successful project execution and a seamless transition after the sale.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipeline activity, customer interactions, and sales forecasts.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive products, and emerging opportunities within the luxury residential and Architecture & Design markets.
- Meet or exceed new customer onboarding, activity, pipeline, and revenue goals.
- Travel as required to support customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and training.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Interior Design, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of sales, business development, customer acquisition, or relationship management experience preferred.
- Experience selling premium, luxury, or design-oriented products is highly desirable.
- Experience in the Architecture & Design (A&D), interior design, furnishings, lighting, or luxury home products industry is preferred.
- Interior design education or professional design experience is strongly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- This position works within the manufacturing plant for product training and communicating with other departments.
