Hammerton is seeking an Industrial Designer to join our lighting design team. This role is ideal for a designer who can balance aesthetic innovation with our in-house manufacturing constraints. As a designer at Hammerton you will have the ability to work on projects from initial concepts to product launch. This involves close collaboration with our sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research & Analysis: Conduct research on lighting trends, materials, and user preferences to inform design decision.
- Concept Development: Assist in generating sketches, illustrations, and 3D models for innovative decorative lighting products.
- Product Selection Pitches: Confidently present on new concepts to Hammerton leadership that will ultimately be selected for development.
- Prototying: Support the development of physical prototypes using materials like paper, 3D-printed components, or cardboard to explore form and function.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide valuable feedback on active projects with fellow designers and engineers.
- Product Development: Work closely with the new product development team to insure consistent design intent across all stages of product creation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design.
- Minimum 2-4 years of industrial design experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, 3D CAD (SolidWorks), KeyShot, Vizcom, and Microsoft 365.
- Lead end-to-end industrial design from concept through production for new and evolving product lines.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations across multiple initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement by exploring new tools, technologies, and design methodologies.
- Support product stortelling through presentations and participation in internal and external engagements.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design for production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours per day.
- Able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder level.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- This position works primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with dust and moderate to high noise level.
