Tandem Dump Truck Driver
Hammel Excavation is seeking a dependable and motivated Tandem Dump Truck Driver to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, operates equipment safely, and is interested in growing within the construction industry.
The primary responsibility of this position is safely operating a tandem dump truck while hauling construction materials including dirt, gravel, concrete, and other jobsite materials. Work will typically be located in the Champaign, IL area and within approximately 50 miles of Potomac, IL.
Requirements:
- Valid Class B CDL required
- Ability to operate a manual 10-speed transmission
- Clean driving record and strong safety awareness
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
- Construction experience is preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport materials to and from construction sites
- Perform daily truck inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized truck
- Assist with general construction tasks when needed
- Work alongside excavation crews to complete projects efficiently
During slower production days or inclement weather, this position may include equipment maintenance, shop work, and the opportunity to learn heavy equipment operation.

Pay: $28–$32 per hour based on experience
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
