Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
- Help develop game strategies, drills, and skill development programs for student-athletes.
- Provide guidance and support to players during practices and games, emphasizing sportsmanship and teamwork.
- Monitor players' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Assist in organizing and supervising team events.
- Communicate effectively with players, and school staff regarding team activities and player performance.
- Ensure compliance with all school and league policies and regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and personal growth.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops as required to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
- Previous experience playing or coaching basketball at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and training techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other coaching staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting a safe and respectful environment for all players.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
- Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policies.
