What are the responsibilities and job description for the Door to Door Sales Team Lead (Roofing) position at Hamilton Exteriors?

We're launching our canvassing division, and we're hiring the person who will lead it. You'll start on the doors, prove the playbook, then recruit and train your own team as we scale.

- You close on the spot. Knock the door, pull up an instant satellite quote on your phone, show an exact price, and sign the deal right there. No appointment setting, no handing your lead to a closer.
- Warm territory. We install 3 to 5 roofs every week. You knock the streets around our active job sites, where the neighbors are already watching us work.
- Real targeting data. We know which roofs in your territory are 20 years old, plus a pipeline of quoted homeowners who went quiet.
- An easy yes. Same GAF roof, same 50-year warranty, almost always the lowest bid.
What you'll do:
- Knock doors and close roof sales (minimum expectation: 1 roof per week)
- Recruit new canvassers as we scale the division
- Train your team, ride along, and manage territory
Compensation:
- $1,000 commission per roof you sell
- $250 override on every roof your team sells
- Realistic first year: $75,000 to $150,000 . A 5-person team selling 1 roof per week each adds $5,000/month in overrides before your own sales.
What we're looking for:
- Door-to-door sales experience (roofing, solar, pest control, alarms, or telecom)
- Comfortable asking for the signature at the door
- Wants to lead: you've trained reps or you're ready to
- Reliable vehicle and smartphone
- Able to obtain CSLB Home Improvement Salesperson registration (simple application, no exam - we walk you through it)
