Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tile installation and possess a variety of construction skills. This role involves working on various projects, ensuring high-quality tile laying and finishing, while collaborating with other tradespeople to achieve project goals.
Duties
- Install tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces according to design specifications and blueprints.
- Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives.
- Measure and cut tiles to fit around fixtures and corners using hand tools and power tools.
- Ensure proper alignment and spacing of tiles during installation for aesthetic appeal and durability.
- Perform restoration work on existing tile installations as needed.
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in tile laying techniques with experience in flooring installation.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans effectively.
- Familiarity with various construction tools including hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of construction management practices including estimating and inspection processes.
- Experience in related fields such as carpentry, masonry, plastering, concrete finishing, caulking, trim carpentry, roofing, fixture installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, glass installation, remodeling, welding, and concrete forming is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high-quality workmanship consistently.
