The Intake Specialist is responsible for fielding inquiries from potential enrollees and referral sources and assisting potential enrollees with the enrollment process which may include Medicaid applications and recertifications, coordinating benefits and facilitating plan transfers.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintains a case load of referrals to be turned into monthly enrollments.
- Works closely with the Business Development team to ensure timely enrollment of all referrals
- Respond to any requests or concerns by (potential) members and escalate as necessary
- Provide information, education and customer service to referral sources and potential members, as necessary.
- Facilitates the enrollment of new members by responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to Medicaid eligibility
- Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of the Plan Benefits, eligibility requirements and the Hamaspik Network
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of NYS requirements specific to MLTC enrollment and marketing guidelines preferred.
- Excellent customer service, communication, prioritization, and critical thinking skills applied real time and in a speedy manner.
- Demonstrates autonomy, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
- Proficiency in the use of office equipment, Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records system.
- Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to speak effectively with members and employees of the agency.
