Job Title: Electrical Project Manager – DC/MD region

We are hiring immediately for an Electrical Project Manager

  • Location: Washington, DC and Maryland
  • Schedule: M-F Days - On Call
  • Requirement: Electrical Experience

An Electrical Project Manager for Halcyon Facilities Group is responsible for managing electrical equipment renewal projects from start to finish. Utilizing electrical expertise that is generally acquired through trade experience, the project manager excels at identifying deficiencies, scoping projects, writing requests for proposals, soliciting for proposals, managing subcontractors, and invasive electrical system outages of critical infrastructure. Must be accustomed to customer-facing tasks and responsibilities. Desired experience utilizing project management software with budget and schedule accountability.

Job Duties

  • Assess and analyze building electrical systems of varying ages and configurations.
  • Utilize electrical system assessment templates to evaluate equipment and component condition based on observations, metrics, and experience.
  • Plan, budget, and execute repair, maintenance, and replacement projects within active healthcare, research, or other critical environments.
  • Coordinate with multiple contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to accomplish project goals while managing impacts to user groups.
  • Understand, analyze, review, and comment on wide spectrum of electrical testing and study reports, data, and deliverables such as arc flash studies, infrared thermal imaging data, coordination studies, load analysis, equipment diagnostic reports, etc.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on electrical maintenance procedures, intervals, and code requirements based on field and record observations.
  • Review maintenance logs, perform surveys, and assess quality of preventative maintenance work orders, tests, and inspections.
  • Understand electrical utility sequences of operation.
  • Familiarity with high and medium voltage distribution infrastructure, emergency generators, switchgear, automatic transfer switches, overcurrent protection devices, bus ducts, etc.
  • Record field observations and critically evaluate findings to arrive at conclusions related to condition and performance of assets. Take targeted photos of all observations. Justify all recommendations with observational or metric data from sources such as professional judgement, experience, design information, field data, and on-site knowledge from maintenance staff.
  • Provide guidance and expertise on local code and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 10 years combined experience as an electrical installer, service technician, foreman, estimator, or project manager.
  • Previous experience as sales engineer, project manager, or customer-facing role for electrical equipment manufacturer, contractor, commissioning or engineering firm encouraged but not required
  • Electrical trade certification or license highly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze blueprints and schematics.
  • Situational awareness and capability to engage with maintenance and engineering staff to effectively extract useful information about assets and maintenance practices
  • A comprehensive understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Proficiency in the use of multimeters, thermal imaging cameras, data loggers, megohmmeters, trade-specific and basic hand tools required.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform physical activity for extended periods of time.
  • Availability to work limited periods of off hours (nights and weekends) to accomplish project and diagnostic goals
  • Travel within the United States required (60%)
  • Must be fluent in English

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
