Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Assistant is responsible for coordinating and executing administrative tasks related to the payroll function, providing direct support to the Payroll Manager and the Payroll team. This position is part of the Accounting department, located in Loveland, Co. and will be onsite.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Assists in processing weekly or biweekly payroll for employees, including data entry, timekeeping, and calculation of wages and deductions.
- Maintains accurate employee records, including changes in salary, benefits, tax withholding, and personal information.
- Generates payroll reports as needed, including year-end reports such as W-2s.
- Maintains organized and secure payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Prepares and provides payroll output reports to required departments.
- Assists with general ledger preparation and journal entry administration as needed.
- Analyzes existing processes, systems, reports, data analysis and outputs within the payroll dept and recommends potential improvement opportunities.
- Collects and distributes department mail and monitors payroll emails to ensure exemplary customer service.
- Other assigned duties, as needed.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of increasing responsibility in various accounting and payroll roles
- Knowledge of ADP and time systems strongly preferred
- Prior experience in payroll processing or a similar role is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Capacity to keep track of numerous ongoing tasks
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Team player with a willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and accurate

Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
