Position Summary
The Community Outreach & Volunteer Engagement AmeriCorps Member helps increase awareness of Habitat for Humanity's programs and services while supporting volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts. The member will serve as an ambassador for Habitat in the community, helping connect families, volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders to Habitat's mission.
Community Outreach Responsibilities
- Increase awareness of Habitat for Humanity of Muscatine County's programs and services.
- Conduct outreach to residents who may benefit from homeownership, home repair, and neighborhood revitalization opportunities.
- Develop and deliver educational materials, presentations, and outreach activities for community members and community partners.
- Attend community meetings, coalition gatherings, housing-related events, and stakeholder engagement opportunities.
- Build relationships with community leaders, organizations, businesses, faith communities, and service agencies.
- Assist with planning and coordinating community awareness events.
Volunteer Engagement Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting, scheduling, training, and supporting individual and group volunteers.
- Help maintain accurate volunteer records and databases.
- Support efforts to create a positive volunteer experience that encourages long-term community involvement.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation strongly recommended due to participation in community events and outreach activities.
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- Education Requirement: High School Diploma or GED required
