ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Project Accounting & Finance Specialist plays a key role in supporting project accounting, financial operations, reporting, and project performance analysis while partnering closely with project managers and company leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support project managers with project accounting, financial administration, and project performance tracking.
- Process and record subconsultant invoices, vendor invoices, expense reports, and accounts payable transactions.
- Prepare, review, and issue client invoices and accounts receivable billings.
- Coordinate project cost tracking and accurate allocation of labor, equipment, and internal expenses across projects..
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, equipment cost allocation, and depreciation tracking.
- Exceptional Analytical Skills for assessing financial data and identifying trends or discrepancies
- Support financial audits, compliance documentation, and auditor requests.
- Prepare monthly financial, operational, and management reports for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger support, budgeting assistance, and ad hoc reporting.
- Help improve accounting workflows, reporting processes, and internal controls.
- Occasional coordination with H2R’s business development group, where accounting is needed, such as vendor applications or registrations, or certified payroll required to establish government contract rate schedules.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, project accounting, or related financial experience.
• Experience in project-based accounting environments strongly preferred.
• Experience with Deltek Ajera is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/reporting systems.
• Experience supporting engineering, consulting, construction, or other professional services firms preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Compensation range of $70,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
