What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Manager position at GuruNanda LLC?
Job Title: Warehouse Operations Manager
Reports To: Head of Supply Chain
Location: Buena Park, CA | On-site (Facility Floor)
The Role:
We are expanding our operations into a newly acquired 90,000 sq ft facility and seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to take complete ownership of our newly designated 45,000 sq ft warehouse space.
This is a unique "greenfield" opportunity. You will work directly with Supply Chain leadership to help design the physical layout, setup WMS systems, and build a high-performing warehouse team from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a floor-oriented leader who excels in a hybrid operational environment: seamlessly supplying raw materials and packaging materials to a fast-paced internal manufacturing floor while managing high-volume inbound shipments and outbound fulfillment for Shopify and Amazon (FBA/FBM) channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Setup & Layout Strategy: Partner with Supply Chain leadership to design and execute the physical layout of an empty 45,000 sq ft space, including racking placement, bin/slotting optimization, and efficient MHE (Material Handling Equipment) traffic routing.
- Manufacturing Support: Keep production lines moving without interruption. Oversee the accurate, timely staging and pulling of raw materials and components for 10 Work Orders (WOs) per day across multiple manufacturing lines.
- Inventory Control & Partials Management: Enforce strict inventory accuracy (98% target). Establish daily cycle-counting procedures, manage a dedicated "Partials Zone" for returned WO components, and enforce WMS real-time scanning hygiene.
- Inbound/Outbound Logistics: Direct receiving of raw materials, packaging, and components. Handle returns and manage the outbound shipping operations.
- Floor Leadership, Safety & Hiring: Hire, train, schedule, and mentor a team of material handlers and forklift operators. Establish OSHA-compliant safety protocols, maintain equipment fleet PM schedules, and foster a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Systems & Process Optimization: Act as the floor-level subject matter expert for our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF scanner hardware, ensuring every inventory movement is scanned, tracked, and reconciled in real-time.
What We Are Looking For:
- 10 years of warehouse management experience, specifically in an environment that handles both manufacturing support (feeding production) and direct fulfillment (B2B/B2C).
- Demonstrated Greenfield/Facility Launch Experience: Prior success setting up a facility, installing racking/slotting, or implementing a new WMS floor process.
- "Roll Up Your Sleeves" Mentality: You must be comfortable spending 80% of your day on the floor. You should know how to operate standard warehouse equipment (reach trucks, counter-balance forklifts) and be capable of training others.
- Systems & Data Proficiency: Mastery of WMS platforms, RF barcode workflows, inventory reconciliation, and standard ERP/logistics software.
- Process Obsession: Deep practical knowledge of Lean warehousing, 5S methodology, FIFO control, and root-cause analysis for inventory variance.
