We're seeking a Mechanical Construction Estimator in Centennial, CO to own the full estimating cycle for large commercial HVAC and plumbing projects from conceptual budget through bid-day execution.
Impact
- Produce accurate HVAC and plumbing estimates that directly determine which projects the company wins and at what margin.
- Strengthen the company's presence in large commercial and healthcare mechanical work across Colorado.
- Deliver clean, well-documented bid packages that give project management a reliable foundation at handoff.
- Identify value engineering opportunities across HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal scopes before bids go out the door.
Responsibilities
- Complete quantity takeoffs for ductwork, HVAC piping, plumbing systems, and mechanical equipment on commercial and healthcare projects.
- Price labor units and material costs for plan-and-spec, design-assist, and design-build bids.
- Develop conceptual budgets early in preconstruction and refine them as design documents mature.
- Solicit, review, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes across plumbing, piping, and sheet metal scopes.
- Analyze drawings and specifications for scope gaps, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare proposals with clear scope letters, qualifications, and exclusions.
- Execute bid-day coordination and deliver a thorough handoff to project management.
Requirements
Must-Haves
- Dedicated commercial mechanical estimating experience covering both HVAC and plumbing scopes.
- Demonstrated ability to run takeoffs and price ductwork, hydronic piping, domestic water, and waste and vent systems.
- Experience estimating plan-and-spec, design-assist, and design-build projects.
- Ability to manage multiple bid schedules and own bid-day execution independently.
Nice-to-Haves
- Proficiency in Trimble AutoBid, QuickPen, FastPipe, FastDuct, or Bluebeam.
- Exposure to healthcare or HCAI-regulated mechanical project estimating.
