Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our team. The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling Direct Service Workers across all assigned programs to ensure complete and accurate service implementation.
Duties
- Scheduling DSWs to provide services according to each client’s plans of care throughout HCBS programs.
- Maintain a master spreadsheet that denotes the availability of all DSWs in the region. Create a bi-weekly work schedule for each home and provide Coordinators with a master schedule for the upcoming pay period.
- At the request of the Coordinator, fill shifts that have become vacant due to employee absence. Collect and disseminate leave requests to the appropriate Coordinator for review and approval. Once approved, schedule alternate DSWs in the home. Communicate and pay incentives to the Coordinator and Billing/Payroll.
- Maintain regular communication with program coordinators regarding employee attendance issues.
- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage to respond to staffing issues. A response is required within 30 minutes of the initial call. If no DSW is available to cover the shift, contact the Floater to cover the home,
- In the event the Floater is unavailable or otherwise encumbered, provide direct care services to ensure the continuity of care. (The Scheduler will be trained to provide services according to each plan of care in the caseload.)
- Ensure that Direct Care Workers are scheduled so as not to exceed 40 hours per week unless approved, in writing, by the appropriate Program Administrator.
- Serve as a member of the hiring committee.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate and a minimum of 1 year of DSW experience.
- Good judgment, initiative, decision-making skills, and ability to assist in training Direct Care Workers.
- Ability to read and write, good interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of business etiquette, the ability to represent the Agency in a professional manner, and to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Good organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to handle multiple details simultaneously.
- A valid driver’s license per Louisiana law, current liability insurance, and access to a properly registered and inspected vehicle in safe operating condition
