Position OverviewGUI Steakhouse is seeking an experienced and service-driven General Manager to lead front-of-house operations at our award-winning Times Square restaurant. This role is responsible for upholding the highest standards of hospitality, operational excellence, and team culture while managing a high-volume, fine-dining environment.
The General Manager works closely with ownership and senior leadership to ensure consistency in service, financial performance, and guest experience, while fostering a respectful, professional, and collaborative workplace.

Front-of-House Leadership & Operations

Lead all FOH operations, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management

Uphold service, product, and ambiance standards in alignment with GUI’s brand and fine-dining identity

Maintain labor efficiency while meeting service demands and budgetary goals

Oversee payroll, scheduling, inventory, and ordering in coordination with leadership
Guest Experience & Relationship Management

Actively engage with guests to cultivate regulars, VIP relationships, and elevated dining experiences

Manage guest communication across email, reservation platforms, and review channels

Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, discretion, and hospitality-first judgment
Training, Culture & Team Development

Train, coach, and mentor FOH managers and staff to consistently perform at a high level

Lead by example, reinforcing GUI’s service philosophy and core values

Compliance, Facilities & Standards

Ensure full compliance with NYC and NYS health, safety, labor, and liquor regulations

Maintain an A letter grade from the NYC Department of Health

Conduct regular DOH walk-throughs with FOH and BOH leadership

Oversee facilities maintenance, follow established checklists, and communicate issues in real time
Financial Performance & Sales

Drive sales through thoughtful service leadership, staff education, and guest engagement

Monitor operational performance and support top-line revenue growth across all meal periods

Minimum 5 years of General Manager or senior FOH management experience in NYC

Michelin-starred or equivalent fine-dining experience required

Proven ability to manage high-volume service with elevated standards

Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills

Experience managing teams of up to 20 FOH staff

Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling platforms, and operational reporting

Deep understanding of food safety, service standards, and guest relations

Salary starting at $90,000 , negotiable based on experience
