Overview
We are seeking a highly connected Marketing Representative / Business Development Professional to expand referral partnerships for a behavioral health facility providing inpatient psychiatric care, crisis stabilization services, and emergency psychiatric support. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with local emergency departments, healthcare providers, and community partners to ensure appropriate patient referrals and continuity of care.
The ideal candidate has existing relationships with ER departments in the Baton Rouge area and hands-on experience working with Physician’s Emergency Certificates (PECs), Louisiana’s involuntary psychiatric hold process similar to the Baker Act.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong referral relationships with emergency departments, hospitals, behavioral health providers, and community organizations across the Baton Rouge region

Educate ER staff, case managers, social workers, and physicians on facility services including inpatient psychiatry, crisis stabilization, and emergency psychiatric admissions

Facilitate and support referrals involving Physician’s Emergency Certificates (PEC) and other involuntary psychiatric admissions

Serve as a liaison between hospital staff, referring providers, and facility leadership to streamline admissions and care transitions

Conduct regular in-person outreach to ER departments, hospitals, clinics, and healthcare systems

Track referral activity, market trends, and growth opportunities within the region

Represent the facility at healthcare events, hospital meetings, and community outreach initiatives

Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility policies
Qualifications

Healthcare marketing or business development experience in a psychiatric setting required

Direct experience working with PEC admissions or involuntary psychiatric holds in Louisiana

Established relationships with ER departments and hospital networks in the Baton Rouge area

Strong understanding of inpatient psychiatric admissions, crisis stabilization, and emergency psychiatric services

Proven ability to develop referral pipelines and grow hospital partnerships

Excellent relationship-building and communication skills

Ability to work independently in a field-based marketing role

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the region
Preferred Experience
