Sr. Operational Accounting Specialist

Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company (GTL) is currently seeking a Sr. Operational Accounting Specialist to join our team!

This position is required to work on-site in our Chicagoland (Glenview, IL) office most days. Everyone receives 3 flexible remote days per month and 6 additional Friday PTO days each year! And, we offer half-day Fridays – every Friday!

The Sr. Operational Accounting Specialist position is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to our growing insurance company by handling a variety of functions for our policyholders, agents/brokers, and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide customer service via email or phone to agents/brokers, customers/policyholders, and internal departments including Licensing, Sales, New Business Development, IT, and Compliance.
• We’ll help you round out your tech skillset as you learn PeopleSoft and LifePro so you can utilize that knowledge to complete a variety of business­-critical daily and monthly functions.
• Be responsible for building and maintaining commission structures.
• Review statements to ensure the timely and accurate payment of commissions.
• Assist in projects related to Operational Accounting functions.
• Participate in important finance initiatives and projects that involve problem­ solving and organization.

Education and Skills:

• The successful candidate will bring 1-2 years of accounting experience to the role; Associates or Bachelor’s degree a plus.
• Confident user of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Clear communicator with a service-oriented approach to issues resolution.
• A tenacious attitude to take on more responsibilities, learn and grow, and be up for the next challenge.

The pay range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects potential pay for the job grade for this role at the time of this posting. Compensation will depend on several factors such as specific competencies, relevant education and experience, qualifications, and industry certifications. Compensation ranges are subject to change and may be higher or lower than the range described above.
