About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Distribution Project Engineer / Project Manager to support the design, planning, and execution of electrical distribution projects within our service territory. This role serves as a key point of contact for assigned projects and plays a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions to meet customer and operational needs.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of distribution system design, along with the ability to manage projects from concept through completion while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring clear and consistent communication with stakeholders
- Perform work order assessments and develop complex engineering designs to meet customer and company requirements
- Manage full project lifecycle including design, estimating, scheduling, and execution
- Develop resource estimates including labor, materials, and work scope
- Evaluate system capacity to support new load requirements and identify potential impacts to the distribution network
- Deliver cost-effective design solutions while balancing operational and customer needs
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and external partners
- Oversee permitting, compliance, and adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements
- Track project performance and provide status updates to leadership
- Participate in process improvements, team meetings, and organizational initiatives
- Support storm restoration efforts and be available for extended hours as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in:
- Electric distribution / utility environment
- Customer interaction and negotiations
- Electric Power Technology Certification
- Strong skills in:
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Communication and stakeholder engagement
- Project and process management
- Leadership and decision-making
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and compliance awareness
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Pay: $34.86 per hour
