Job Summary:
The Machinist operates and maintains precision manufacturing equipment, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce high-quality components that meet exact specifications. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong technical knowledge of machining operations, and the flexibility to perform rework on non-conforming materials to meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain lathe, milling, grinding, balancing, and spin test machines.
- Perform rework on non-conforming outsourced materials to meet production deadlines.
- Review drawings, blueprints, and instructions to ensure accuracy and compliance with design specifications.
- Take precise measurements and select appropriate machines, tools, and settings for each task.
- Inspect finished parts for quality assurance and document or discard defects as required.
- Identify and perform minor machine maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Support on-time delivery (OTD) initiatives by assisting in production bottlenecks.
- Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Quality, and HSE teams.
- Contribute to team success by performing additional duties as needed.
Required Experience:
- 5 years of machining or manufacturing assembly experience.
- Proficiency with manufacturing procedures, geometric dimensioning (ANSI Y14.5), and tolerancing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and safely in a high-speed production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and coordination skills.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training or certification in machining or manufacturing – preferred.
Required Skills:
- Machining setup, operation, and troubleshooting
- Reading blueprints and using precision measurement tools
- Quality control and defect documentation
Preferred Skills:
- CNC and manual machining expertise
- Preventive maintenance and equipment repair
- Forklift operation and safety procedures
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
- Arithmetic and measurement calculations
- Team collaboration across production and quality functions
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: Outdoor production area with variable conditions.
- PPE: Required (provided by employer).
- Lifting: 20–40 lbs. regularly; up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Heights: Up to 10 feet.
- Equipment: May operate forklifts and other material-handling machinery.
