The Desktop Support Tech plays a crucial role within a large IT department, providing expert assistance and maintenance for desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices. This position ensures seamless hardware and software operation, supports users with technical issues, and contributes to system upgrades and rollouts through the effective use of standard ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hardware support for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
  • Install and configure software applications
  • Assist users with technical issues and troubleshoot problems promptly
  • Maintain systems and perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Ensure network connectivity for supported devices
  • Manage user accounts and permissions
  • Document support activities and procedures thoroughly
  • Train users on hardware and software usage

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in IT support
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Active Directory management
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
