Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Test Technician to support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of industrial manufacturing products and systems. This role is responsible for executing complex test procedures, maintaining test equipment, and ensuring product quality and reliability in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, environmental, and performance testing on mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical products
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain test equipment and instrumentation
- Troubleshoot test failures and perform root cause analysis
- Document test procedures, results, and non-conformance reports
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test processes and product quality
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and validation activities
- Ensure compliance with company standards, ISO requirements, and safety regulations
- Train and mentor junior technicians as needed
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma)
- High school diploma or Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- 5 years of hands-on experience in a test technician or similar role within industrial manufacturing
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documents
- Experience with test equipment such as:
- Multimeters
- Oscilloscopes
- Data acquisition systems
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and basic computer applications (Excel, data logging software)
- Experience in industries such as aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment, or semiconductor manufacturing
- Knowledge of PLCs, automated test systems, or LabVIEW
- Certification in IPC standards or similar technical credentials
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training
- Experience working in ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a production setting
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
- May require shift work, overtime, or weekend support
