Reports To: Service Administrator - PMP
Purpose:
Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing paving and material processing equipment such as crushers, screeners, conveyors, and asphalt machinery. This role involves field and shop work, focusing on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to ensure maximum equipment uptime and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on paving and processing equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the shop or at customer job sites
Document service reports, repair logs, and parts usage accurately and in a timely manner using mobile apps
Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to determine root causes and recommend repairs
Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding repair status, timelines, and any follow-up needed
Identify required parts and work with the parts department or vendors to ensure timely availability
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company standards
Assist in the setup and calibration of new or rebuilt equipment as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop, on job sites, and in the service vehicles

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred
2 years of experience with heavy equipment repair (paving and material processing equipment experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software
Proficient with basic computer applications (e.g., service reporting tools, Microsoft Office)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work independently in the field under varying weather and site conditions
Strong communication and customer service skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet company driving requirements
