Purpose:
The Field Service Technician – Paving & Material Processing is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing paving and material processing equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, performing component rebuilds, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely at customer job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electronical issues
Perform repairs, component rebuilds, replacements and adjustments to restore equipment to optimal performance and ensure equipment meets performance standards
Document service reports, repair logs, and parts usage accurately using mobile apps.
Identify required parts and work with the parts department or vendors to ensure timely availability.
Provide timely and effective solutions to customer equipment issues
Interact with customers on-site to communicate issues, provide updates, and deliver excellent service.
Provide training to customers on equipment maintenance and operation as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on job sites and in the service vehicle
Maintain and secure company-issued tools, diagnostic equipment, and service vehicles.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and protocols
Report hazards, incidents, or unusual equipment behavior promptly.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or related training preferred
2 years of experience in servicing heavy equipment, particularly in paving and material processing
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment issues
Deep understanding of complex schematics and diagrams
Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools, manuals, and service software
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet company driving requirements
