As a Vehicle Compliance Branch Chief, you will  be responsible managing fleet operations, compliance, and regulatory programs to ensure effective vehicle asset management and meet organizational requirements.

Location of position: GSA, Federal Acquisition Service (FAS)  Office of Travel, Transportation & Logistics categories.

The GS 14 salary range starts at $125,776 per year.  Salary is dependent upon duty location.

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in Vehicle compliance and fleet operations. This experience includes:

  • Managing compliance and emissions programs to meet regulatory vehicle standards.
  • Conducting nation wide gap analyses to optimize fleet readiness.
  • Briefing reports on changes to improve the cost-effectiveness of assets management programs.
  • Providing guidance and coordination of motor vehicle fleet operations programs, policies, and initiatives to meet the organization requirements.

The Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of Fleet Management, Fleet Vehicle Service Center, Vehicle Management & Compliance Division, Vehicle Compliance Branch.

  • Lead, coordinate, and provide technical direction for the management of vehicle operations and fleet assets, ensuring strict adherence to all federal and state regulatory requirements, including registration, compliance, emissions, and recalls.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert and program leader on vehicle compliance, leveraging performance metrics, nationwide gap analyses, and strategic reports to drive decision-making and optimize fleet readiness.
  • Serve as the principal liaison, collaborating with internal GSA fleet offices and external partners (e.g., state departments of licensing) to streamline service delivery, resolve complex issues, and ensure the successful achievement of all program commitments.
  • Establish rigorous performance tracking and actively monitor all supplier activities, projects, and vendor-provided services to ensure they consistently exceed GSA standards and meet customer mission requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign the Branch's workload; evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs); and execute the full scope of personnel management, including selection, training decisions, and disciplinary actions.
