Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations within our supply chain network. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems, and expertise in logistics, inventory control, and process improvement. This role is vital in ensuring efficient warehouse distribution, optimizing inventory management, and supporting overall operational excellence. The Warehouse Manager will lead a team of supervisors and staff to meet organizational goals while maintaining compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
Duties
- Manage daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Oversee transportation planning and logistics coordination to ensure timely delivery and dispatching of goods.
- Implement process improvements utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Utilize ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and supply chain analytics to monitor performance metrics and optimize workflows.
- Supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate with procurement teams for purchasing and materials management to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Oversee freight management, including 3PL providers, freight forwarding (NVOCC), and fleet management for transportation needs.
- Develop budgets related to warehouse operations, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies across all warehouse activities.
- Lead efforts in process standardization using tools like Process Improvement methodologies and Lean initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager with a strong background in operations management within logistics or supply chain environments.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400, and supply chain analytics tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, demand planning, procurement, shipping & receiving, freight forwarding, and transportation management systems.
- Strong leadership skills with supervising experience in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with transportation planning, fleet management, 3PL coordination, NVOCC operations, and materials management.
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage budgets effectively while ensuring operational efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze supply chain data for strategic decision-making.
