As the Assistant Project Manager, it is essential that you possess strong communication and team building skills along with reporting, management, and proven leadership capabilities. You must have the ability to work independently, collaboratively, with full transparency, as required by the client/project. In addition, you would be required to coordinate all aspects of projects with the various stakeholders in order to ensure their successful completion within the established quality, budget, time, operational and safety parameters. This position is full-time located in the downtown Wilmington De. area reporting to the on-site Senior Project Manager with a dotted line responsibility to the Director of Corporate Projects Lead.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Interfacing users to define project requirements and establish project work plan and deadlines
- Creating persuasive presentations that meet the project’s objectives
- Representing the client with architects, engineers, vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies
- Participate in design meetings and provide continual input to optimize design.
- Assist in developing Design Delivery Schedule along with client and design-build team
- Develop comprehensive scope-of-work and contract document deliverables list for each related discipline.
- Negotiate scope-of-work, deliverables and price with consulting firms.
- Determine need for use of additional consultants / disciplines.
- Collaborate on new design issues and research projects with team.
- Evaluate and motivate designers toward continued growth and leading design solutions.
- Develop and maintain successful user relations and ensure the smooth integration and delivery of projects; set and be accountable for project deadlines
- Capability and willingness to perform inspections of job site conditions and project progress, as required, including after-hours and weekends if necessary.
- Comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex design documents
- Make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, users, top management and/or public groups
- Motivate and negotiate effectively with employees and client groups to take desired action.
- Take initiative and make decisions with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results.
- Bachelor s degree (BA/BS) in related services
- Professional degree in Planning & Design, Engineering or Architecture a plus
- 5 years providing design and construction related services (facilities management, architecture, engineering, etc.) public and commercial sectors preferred
- Familiarity with Public Design Commission review process and authorities having Jurisdiction
- Located within daily commutable distance to downtown Wilmington, DE
