Job Description
The Service Manager ensures that the Service Department is a well oiled machine operating at a high level of performance and customer satisfaction. The Service Manager is tasked with making sure repair orders are written in accordance to Bureau of Automotive Regulations and Manufacture guidelines. Recruiting and retaining the right talent to ensure that the department is properly staffed with the best people is of great importance. The Service Manager will work with and train employees to pursue excellence.
The ideal candidate has five years of experience in the automotive service business with at least three years of experience at the manager level, a valid driver's license, and good computer skills. Candidates must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world class customer service.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction
- Follows Bureau of Automotive Repair Regulations
- Follows Manufacture guidelines and warranty rules
- Maintains up to date knowledge of all products and warranty coverages
- Maintains clean accounting schedules
- Trains Service employees on dealership procedures and policies
- Recruits new talent
- Ensures dealership compliance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Five years of experience in automotive service
- Three years of experience at the management level
- High customer satisfaction history
- Must be computer literate
- Available to work Monday through Saturday
- Dedicated to excellence
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Valid driver's license
The Service Manager Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Salary of $6,100.00 per month. The position also may also pay a production bonus based on team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit. The average compensation for 2025 for this position was approximately $14,000 for an experienced Service Manager.
