Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling pets according to breed standards or client preferences.
- Ensure the health and safety of animals during grooming sessions by using appropriate restraint techniques.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and grooming options.
- Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area and equipment to ensure a safe environment for both pets and staff.
- Handle animals with care and compassion, recognizing signs of stress or discomfort during grooming procedures.
- Assist in the overall care of animals by providing basic pet care services such as feeding, walking, and monitoring health conditions.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff when necessary to address any health concerns that may arise during grooming sessions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming is preferred; however, candidates with strong backgrounds in animal handling or veterinary assistance may also be considered.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus, as well as experience with various breeds and their specific grooming needs.
- Familiarity with veterinary practices or previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy animals safely and handle them with confidence during grooming sessions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service and build relationships with pet owners.
- Experience in kennel operations or pet sitting can enhance your candidacy for this role.
